Birthday Boy!

I cannot believe I am saying this, but it is Bryce's first birthday today! Today we are headed to Monkey Joes with Aunt Amelia, Mica, and Matt! And then Saturday we are having his birthday party. It is just a fun filled week. I sit here thinking how blessed I am and he is to make it to this first birthday, how blessed that he has been such a healthy baby, not to mention a super happy baby. I look around at the families that are hurting because of child loss and it makes me appreciate my little man that much more. Well, I am going to post some pictures that are throughout the last year. After Saturday I will post the pictures of his birthday adventures.

Brrr...

Okay. So Monday was possibly one of the worst of my life. Like the bad luck was hitting me left and right. And it hurt. So, it all started Sunday night. I call my landlord to let them know that the heat had not been working. Well, they had just gotten home from Colorado, therefore, no one could come and fix it until Monday. Great. So, I had a Biology test Monday. Which may have saved my life. I know from Biology that it is not safe to sleep in a -234 degree house. Therefore, we stayed in Warm Springs. I woke up at 5:30 in the morning to get in the shower so I would be on time and still have a little time to go over my notes in the car. Of course my morning would not have been complete without Nana getting on to me for not drying off in the shower. The reason being that I got her bath mat wet. Wait, I just looked up the meaning for bathmat and I could have sworn...oh never mind. Back to the story. We head out the door and are on our way. I am almost to the highway (15 min) from Columbus and I realize that I had left my biology notebook and study guide. Did I mention that I didn't get to study the last few pages in my notes? So, I make a U-turn and head back to the Springs. Nana is waiting in the drive way with my notes and a piece of toast for the child in my back seat that is screaming bloody murder because he has not had breakfast. So, a piece of toast should hold him over until we get to daycare (and of course make a total mess on my backseat). So, we leave again. I get to Bryce's daycare and he has missed breakfast. Ugh!!! Crackers will do. I get to school, take my test, all goes well. I come home and my house is 45 degrees. Compared to outside it felt okay (believe it or not). So, I get Bryce some lunch. Something REALLY good to make up for the crackers. Turkey sticks and left over veggies. Bryce starts to shiver as he is eating and then his teeth start chattering. This can't be good. So, I put on his heavy coat and beanie (Thanks Colleen) and we are good to go. So, I know that we cannot stay here and it starts to warm up outside, we head to the park. Bryce went swinging and loved it. I do have pictures of that and I will post later. It starts to rain. (I swear I am not making this up) So we get in the car and drive. And drive. And drive. Sheesh. We then head to the chiropractor. What the heck? Okay so we are done and the guy who is supposed to fix the heat calls. YES! We head to the house and the "temporarily" fixes the heat until he gets a piece Wednesday. We are warm! Bryce gets a warm dinner and we head to Body Pump at the gym. I get home and it is 40 degrees. In my home that is. Good grief. Of course I call Papa and he suggests a space heater. He will meet me half way and I will pick it up. On my way out the door he calls to tell me to go to Walmart and pick one up and he will pay for it. Okay. I wanted to get this over with so I Mapquest the closest Walmart. Dumb. I go in and to say the very least it was nasty. It had not even been made into a super center yet. Yes, those still exist. So, I go to heater. WAY to expensive. I ask a lady if there are any more and direct quote, "Girl, I don't know. Why? Do I look like I am supposed to know where it is. Go look ya self!" (she was wearing a Walmart uniform) Okay okay. I am done there. I put Bryce in the car. Crap! I lost his very cute blue shoe. There is no way I am going back so, I get over it. I call up Meagan. A friend that lives near Columbus State. We end up having a sleep over. Meagan lets Bryce and I sleep in her warm bed. So our night ended pretty warmly, but it was an awful day. Sorry, so long, but you wouldn't have gotten the full experience if I would have left anything out. Peace.

The not so Supermom

Okay Okay. So my mom has asked me to post about my experience with cooking french toast. So, knowing that my mom reads Colleen's blog and now that Colleen has given me a delightful blog award, (thank you by the way) all of her friends now have the link to my blog. Needless to say I was quite hesitant to post my cooking story considering that Colleen always has lovely illustrations and amazing outcomes when she shares a recipe (not to mention that hers are all edible). Not only can she cook as if she were a contestant on Top Chef, she is also crafty. She can knit anything you ask, a scarf, a hat, kitten play toys, a car etc. Let me just tell you that I consider changing a diaper while my child is standing up, jumping up and down a craft. Okay, so obviously I cannot compare my cooking experiences with Colleen AKA Supermom, but maybe this will teach you how to fix a nice treat for the dogs or kittens.

Step 1: Pour eggs into bowl (make sure you DO NOT mix them up)
Step 2: Pour any milk, no need to worry how much. Who cares right?
Step 3: Get some bread
Step 4: Pour in the eggs and milk into the frying pan (Reminder to NOT mix them up and make sure the eye is on high so they get nice and burnt)
Step 5: Put in toast.
Step 6: Wonder why it looks nothing like french toast, but more like a burnt fried egg glued onto your toast.
Step 7: Give to the dogs.

Needless to say I ended up making it right and I must say that is was...okay.

PS. Bryce loves his books Colleen :)

This post is not going to have any pictures. I just don't seem to have the time. Bryce is now 11 months old. I cannot believe how fast this year has gone by. My sweet little baby is so not a baby anymore. It almost makes me cry. I bought him some new clothes the other day because he is growing super fast and the tag said toddler. Let me tell you I couldn't believe it. I need to come to terms with that, haha. He has become so "lovey-dovey" (as his Nana calls it) lately. If you pick him up he will immediately lay his head down on your shoulder. Definately makes my heart melt. His cousin, Addie, taught him how to say "thank you" recently. So today when I him a biter bisquit he politely said "thank you." :) I said no pictures, but I forgot I had pictures of B on this computer. So here is a sweet one.

Winter Fun!

Well, our winter break is over and I finally had time to upload some pictures from our adventures. We got to see everyone in our family from Warm Springs all the way to Spokane, WA. Bryce finally got to meet his new little cousin Norah and I must say that they bonded well. Bryce actually learned how to give kisses kissing his little cousin. He is close to walking and let me tell you, I can wait. So, here are some pictures.

Some great friends, David and Daniel.
